Georgia Printer Magazine
Design Refresh

The Georgia Printer is a quarterly published trade magazine that brings news and education to printing & imaging industry professionals. Its production relies mainly on donations from PIAG printers and vendors and has a small circulation of about 3500. After refreshing the look and fun with the covers began, the publication grew to be one that sets the standard for many others across the country. Read a post about the "animated" cover I created on PaperSpecs. My role in evolving the Georgia Printer was to develop a refreshed logo, design direction and layout, print production management, and art direction of photography when needed.

Georgia-Pacific White Launch Campaign
Interface Design

Georgia-Pacific Professional needed a fun idea to launch their line of bathroom products in a new color, white. With the help of a writer, the concept became "Behold The White Collection", to exaggerate and play off of the idea that the products were like art forms. The launch campaign consisted of a micro-site, direct mail, and premium items. The look was also the source for their booth design at GP's biggest trade show event of the year, ISSA. This site was made for prospects to experience the new white products, get information about where and how to purchase, and also features an interactive bathroom scene with fun animated rollovers.

PIAG Print Buyers Guide App
Concept + Design

Every year the Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia publishes an annual print buyers guide, and this app was proposed to accompany the printed version to facilitate buying print local and to put more power in the hands of print buyers. In The Guide mobile app, print buyers have the option to save to "favorites", read industry news or other worthy marketing/print related tidbits in the "news" section, and utilize several searching options for those times their standby printer might not have what they are looking for. Users might also upgrade to get handy reference tools for folding, binding, signatures, etc.

2012 High Museum Atlanta Wine Auction
Design

Founded in 1993, the High Museum Atlanta Wine Auction is the largest fundraising event for the High Museum of Art. The Wine Auction is the top charity fundraising event in Atlanta, the fifth largest charity wine auction in the United States according to Wine Spectator and the number one charity wine auction benefiting the arts. The funds generated from the Auction, which amount to more than $19 million over the last 19 years, are a significant contribution to the Museum’s exhibitions and educational programming.

The 2012 event marked the celebration of their 20th auction, and the client wanted to do something extra special. The final imagery was a combination of bright colors, fireworks, and bold iconic imagery to grab the attention of benefactors.

The final identity will be applied to several pieces for their campaign including a website, posters, mailers, and other merchandise.

2010 Print Excellence Awards Annual
Concept + Design + Photography Collaboration with Andrew Waters

The 2010 Print Excellence Competition fell on PIAG's 115th anniversary. This piece was one of a few themed pieces that hark back to turn of the century printing, a time where it seemed printing would never be a thing of the past. It was a wonderful opportunity to pay homage to the craftsmanship of days gone by, and also to serve as a reminder that printing has a history of evolving.

PIAG Annual Meeting Direct Mail and Promo Piece
Concept + Design

PIAG is a non-profit organization that exists to support the Georgia Printing & Imaging Industry through education, buying power programs, Insurance, and several other offerings. The company's 2010 annual meeting needed a direct mail piece that would grab the attention of a dwindling number of members, and get them enthusiastic about attending the meeting/educational seminar on the future of print and how to survive. The turnout of the event was a huge success, and the idea of a "print revolution" has lasted beyond the life of the event. The piece was printed 3 color and shimmered with a metallic silver on uncoated stock.

2011 Print Excellence Competition Awards Invitation
Concept & Design

Appropriate to the 2011 competition theme of "Great Ideas That Took Great Shapes", this invitation takes on a unique shape of its own. The simplicity of the production was a plus, and still acts as a definite departure from your typical format. The illustration on the back says 'print' just for kicks, and stays loose enough once folded so the edges could meet without cross-over conflict.
